I'm working on a new movie that will explain better what really happened!
If the water flows in on deck through the open bow, it's almost100 % certain that you will die a painful death! This metal piece will sink like a stone.
But what did really happened, did the passengers that survived have any luck, was it luck that only 15% survived, I will find out.
